CET Booster Club Board Meeting
Minutes, January 27, 2026, Approved
Present on Zoom: Barb Chaffer Authier (treasurer), Trudy Gates (house manager), Sascha Matish (president), Margie Morris (producer), Allison Plagens (member), Alisse Portnoy (secretary), Adam Weakly (tech director), Emily Wilson-Tobin (director).
The meeting was called to order at 7:38 pm.
Minutes from September and December meetings were accepted.
After brief discussion, the group decided that a hybrid format for the fall general membership meeting is worth a try. Alisse will sort out logistics.
Student Board check-in
Hall/backstage lighting options are in progress. Adam will talk with Paige and Barb can purchase using CET credit card if sent a link.
New screen is in process.
The board will provide food for crew for movie night, since they will be working before the social event.
CET swag: Having heard from students, Margie will make available a new quarter zip sweatshirt and the classic CET hoodie for online ordering. Margie will do an order for both; if there are extras necessary to meet a minimum order of 30, they can be sold at Concessions, Just Desserts, etc.
Memos to cast and crew during 9 to 5 will be available; donations welcome, but no charge for them.
Schoology is working well for students. Emily doesn’t mind sending BCC emails, which are working pretty well. After discussion, there was agreement to keep going with the current setup.
The “Big List,” CET 2009: Sascha will continue to maintain it through UM’s community lists. Alisse will prepare a form for Emily to share in the spring so that seniors can give us AAPS email addresses to delete and new email addresses to add.
Volunteers: Mentors are working well.
Food
Kristin and Jen are continuing for this year. We’re going to go back to not asking for donations for pre-tech week snacks. Sascha can visit Costco for that.
Can we confirm Kristin and Jen for next year?
Concessions: Is there someone who can shadow Stacy?
Pipeline email: send something out, maybe with the food Sign-Up Genius?
Treasurer’s Report
Details are saved in the CET Drive’s Treasurer folder.
Bank balance is $32,000.
1099s are set; need W4s signed in 2026 from everyone whom we’ll pay more than $600.
Barb will create a template for cash sales.
Dues: Pretty close to all fall dues are in. $9000 was budgeted for the year, and in the fall we were only $700 under that.
Show Information: there will be an intermission; band will be on the stage; thrust like Pippen; seating chart available within a week; presale password can be Dolly.
Theater chairs: They are not accessible. Emily also would like to replace the riser system, including for more flexibility, better lighting, and better seating. That feels like a capital campaign purchase? Would the school use them too? Where would they live? We should look into this need more. Allison Plagen, a parent who introduced the matter arising, would be happy to be involved. Emily will start exploring by checking in with Marci and Rebecca.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:34 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Alisse Portnoy, Secretary
